We have all been living in strange times recently with the current global pandemic. During this pandemic a lot of us have been restricted to our households. With this drastic change to the way we live our lives a lot of people have struggled to find the motivation to look after our bodies. Most of us I’m sure, have all been seeking comfort through junk food without working off the excess calories. With lockdown now easing in a lot of places, it is about time we start thinking about getting off the excess pounds we put on. Nobody knows this more than fitness expert Charles D’angelo, we were lucky enough to get a few pointers on where to start from Charles’ YouTube channel. Below I have included the tips that can help you get your body back to normal.
Exercise
With gyms being closed it has been really hard, especially for gym fanatics during this lockdown. Even though a lot of gyms are still closed, it is important to remember you don’t have to be at the gym to get in your weekly exercise. There are numerous ways to make this possible, with the ability of online shopping you can order equipment to your homes and get as close as you can to your regular workout. If that isn’t an option you can also take up a new hobby to maintain your cardio, this can be running, cycling or even long walks.
Diet
As previously mentioned, a lot of people have been taking to junk food during this tough time, we get a lot of comfort from eating our favorite meals. A balanced healthy diet can surprisingly satisfy your needs also, all of your favorite take outs can be made at home which will reduce the overall calorie intake and reduce the processed ingredients. Having a good diet isn’t about torturing yourself, you can eat everything you like but within moderation. It is really important that you are not eating more calories than you are burning if you are trying to cut that weight. Work hard and you can have rewards, go from one takeout a week, to one takeout a month. It is subtle changes like that, that can really benefit your body and increase your personal health.
Motivation
It is completely understandable that motivation levels haven’t been as high as they usually are, but that is something only you can change. Yes, we are living in an uncertain time, however your goals are still completely achievable if you set your mind to it. A good way to do this is to set a weekly plan of what you are going to do for your diet and what exercise routines you will partake in. Create a point system with a reward for reaching a certain number of points. For example if you give yourself one point a day for a good diet, one point a day for doing exercise and when you reach fifty points give yourself a treat. Motivation is key and put that hand in hand with a good dieting/exercise, you will be back to your target weight in no time.
